The traveling exhibit, produced by the Mexican National Museum of Art, was created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the death of José María Velasco, one of Mexico’s most revered artists and an internationally renowned landscape painter.
It consists of over 25 authorized reproductions of the master’s greatest works reflecting his development as a painter, and illustrating contemporary panoramas of Mexican life. He was especially fond of depicting grand vistas of the Valley of Mexico and of scenery in and around Mexico City.
