  Border Heritage Museum Hosts 'Hearts & Heritage' Valentine's Event During CaminArte

  
  

  Celebrate love, friendship, and community with the Webb County Heritage Foundation at the Border Heritage Museum during CaminArte on Friday, February 7th, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

  
  

  The evening will feature a special screening of the romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, along with a friendship bracelet station where attendees can create keepsakes with their loved ones.

  "Valentine's is our second favorite holiday of the year! We thought it would be wonderful to celebrate it along with the community we love so much," said Andrea Ordoñez, Manager of the Republic of the Rio Grande Museum. "We are also happy to have our friends, Lee Douglas Diaz, II and Erica Garcia, supporting us once again for a movie night at the museum."

  The event will also feature sweet treats and cozy drinks provided by local vendors:

  • Gloria’s Coffee Bar will offer drinks from their special Valentine’s menu.

  • Sabor a Cielo will have delicious pastries for sale.

  • My Lovely Any will present her adorable crochet creations.

  "We love supporting our local vendors and are excited to be joined by some community favorites. Be sure to stop by and show your support for both your local museum and the amazing artists who make our city special." said Ordoñez.

  From protecting historic architecture, teaching Laredo history to school groups, operating two history museums, maintaining historical archives, and celebrating our city’s founding, the Webb County Heritage Foundation works hard year-round with support from friends and sponsors.

  In celebration of a love for local history, the Webb County Heritage Foundation will host a Valentines’ Membership Party on Thursday, February 13 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Villa Antigua® Border Heritage Museum, 810 Zaragoza St. The public is invited to renew or initiate memberships at this time. There are numerous levels of membership participation available from “Student” to “1755 Club.” Membership forms will be available that evening.

  The gathering will also serve as the organization’s Annual Meeting with a special report on the organization’s activities presented at 6:30 p.m.

  The public is cordially invited to attend to meet friends and join a group of people who love local history and support historic preservation.

  Join us for CaminARTE on First Friday, September 6th, from 7 PM to 9 PM! Explore the Republic of the Rio Grande Museum after dark and journey back to 1840 when Laredo was the capital of an independent republic. Admission is FREE, so bring your friends and family to enjoy a night of history under the stars!
